Keighley Krawl

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

This summer's Keighley music festival is expected to see up to 100 bands perform in the town.

Titled the Keighley Krawl, the festival will include big names including Goldie Lookin' Chain, The Animals, lead singers from The Inspirational Carpets, The Wonderstuff and folk singer Martha Tilston.

According to one of the organisers, Jym Harris, the aim is to book major names from the music world to perform alongside local acts, to give them the chance to play a major event."The event is likely to attract big crowds. There will also be a range of fringe events going on at the same time.

Four main venues are planned, including the towns Victoria Hall hosting the biggest acts.

  • The festival takes place on Sunday 7th June from 1.00pm to 11pm. Tickets are priced at £5 for most stages and £10 for entry to include Keighley's Victoria Hall. Tickets can be purchased from the Musicians' Centre at Keighley Railway Station and Upper Piccadilly Bradford.
  • All fringe events are free.
