Help for cancer sufferers
Wednesday, March 31, 2010
Sue Ryder Care – Manorlands Hospice was given a huge boost by local man Robert Weir who has pledged to donate 5% of the income from his business, R Weir Property Maintenance, throughout 2010.
Robert set up his business three years ago and was given a boost last year when he was helped by the Princes Trust since when it has gone from strength to strength.
Robert is therefore keen to put something back into the community and has chosen Manorlands because he has friends and family suffering from cancer and he is aware of the great work of Sue Ryder Care locally both within the hospice walls and out in the community.
Robert who has helped other organisations such as the Yorkshire Air Ambulance in the past was thanked by Manorlands Fundraiser, Andrew Wood.
Andrew said “It’s a very generous gesture by this young entrepreneur and we hope that Robert’s work schedule remains full throughout 2010 and benefits both his business and the work of the hospice. If any other business wants to match the gesture of R Weir Property Maintenance please get in touch with us at the Manorlands Fundraising office.”
If you would like some work doing at your property and would like to contribute to Manorlands at the same time then please contact Robert on 07988 842350 or email robertweir13@hotmail.co.uk.
